Formula E - Opening Ceremony

Working with the organisers of the Saudi Arabian Formula E Grand Prix to reimagine the opening ceremony for the race. The challenge was to move away from the traditional brass band and airshow and create a theatrical opening incorporating action, rituials and noise that reflected the excitent of the racing.

Day of the racers reimagines the way opening ceremonies should be undertaken for motorsports. Starting in the air above the circuit the opening was imagined from and live broadcast in first person and third person to fully immerse viewers in the spectacle. Ffilmed in 360, a VR stream would enable those watching online to be immersed in the opening.
